Who Do You Think You Are?
Thursday, 9pm, BBC1
A notorious trial and a history of devastating deaths are some of the fascinating stories The Crown star Claire Foy discovers as she retraces her family tree in this week’s Who Do You Think You Are?
Foy’s parents, Caroline and David, divorced when she was eight and she grew up close to her maternal grandfather, Jimmy Stimpson, now 93, whose own father, Charles, died in a motorbike crash, leaving behind several children.
However, that wasn’t the only misfortune to strike the family. Charles’ father Henry also died in distressing circumstances when Charles was just four months old.
