Ruby Wax channels Tom Hanks in the classic film Cast Away as she strands herself for 10 days on a deserted island off the coast of Madagascar.

The two-part Channel 5 series Ruby Wax: Cast Away follows the comedian, author and broadcaster as she begins by taking a crash course in survival skills. Wax also seeks advice from her close pal Dame Joanna Lumley, who took part in the 1994 reality show Girl Friday, before being dropped off on the uninhabited island of Ankerea, with only snakes, sandflies and a handheld camera for company.
