Fresh from tripping the light fantastic on BBC1’s sequinned spectacular Strictly Come Dancing, Pete Wicks is back on our screens this week with a mission close to his heart. In U&W’s four-part series Pete Wicks: For
Dogs’ Sake, the animal-welfare advocate and former TOWIE star will be rolling up his sleeves to work at Basildon’s Dogs Trust in his home county of Essex, helping to rescue, rehabilitate and rehome some of the beautiful canines in its care.
‘Dogs have always been a passion of mine, and this show is something I’ve wanted to do ever since I was lucky enough to end up on TV,’ shares Pete, 36, as, here, he joins TV Times for a chat…
This show sounds lovely, Pete. What should viewers expect?
You can expect laughter, tears and amazing stories. It’s really emotional and, honestly, the best thing I’ve ever done!
I’ve always had an affinity with rescue dogs as I consider myself to be a bit of an underdog. This series shows that everyone deserves a second chance. It’s been life-changing for me.
