AS ONE OF THE MOST INFLUENTIAL AFRICANS on the planet, media goddess Bonang Matheba is known globally for her impact in the South African entertainment industry. We recently got a chance to sit down with this formidable businesswoman to look at the highs and lows of her career, and find out what she has learned on the way to the top.
We produced this cover shoot at one of Mpumalanga’s majestic destinations, Kruger Shalati, and I got to experience Bonang’s work ethic and quest for excellence during our 15-hour cover shoot. This is what set’s her apart and has made her a force to be reckoned with for the past 20 years and her reign continues.
Affectionately known as the “Host with the Most” Bonang resume and list of accolades and achievements is long.
Her titles include award-winning media personality, author, radio host, TV presenter and MC, Global Citizen ambassador, style icon and businesswoman.
Affectionately called “Queen B” by her fans, the B-Force, Bonang is without a doubt the most-sought after entertainment personality in Africa.
No one can match what Bonang, at 36 years-old, has achieved in media and entertainment, and she has attained a number of impressive firsts throughout her career.
In 2019, Bonang won the coveted Award for Best Inspiration & Influence at the prestigious Global Social Awards held in Prague, Czech Republic. The same year she also won Africa Influencer of the Year at the first-ever E! Entertainment People’s Choice Awards, held in Los Angeles, California.
She is also the first black woman to become a member of the Cap Classic Producers Association through her luxury beverage brand, the House of BNG, which offers a range of MCCs (Brut and Brut Rose), and the luxurious Prestige Reserve.
