It makes every bit of sense that Richard Mille, ever a disruptor in the world of luxury watchmaking, finds a kindred spirit in the rebellious ethos of Memphis Design. Bizarre, naive and fantastically kitschy, this ’80s art movement was a rejection of mainstream Modernism, finding joy instead in simple geometry, clashing hues and cartooney forms. The movement showed us that high design can be silly and humorous too, that we don’t have to be too serious all the time. Which is why we are so in love with the new RM 07-01 Coloured Ceramic collection from Richard Mille.
