A traditional style home decks the halls with ribbons, holly and pine sprigs for a winter woodland holiday.

A traditional Christmas tablescape can infuse your holiday home décor with classic charm. This is why interior designer Kemp Harper of The Colonial on Park (@thecolonial_on_park) prefers a more traditional Christmas style. "When it comes to Christmas, I like it to feel cozy and nostalgic," he explains. With this woodland-inspired tablescape, he wanted touches of traditional Christmas accents, like red ribbons and tartan patterns, to foster a historic themed holiday. He started with Williams-Sonoma plates to help set a classic tone, which he then peppered with natural pieces, like pinecones and evergreens, from his property's woods to create a beautiful fusion of natural and traditional.

When you design with nature, you honor the season. It's a sentiment that Kemp has taken to heart, as he gathers items from nature for his Christmas table's centerpiece. "This centerpiece was made from my backyard pine trees and berries from our crabapples," he says. He prefers to collect such pieces from his woods than visit a plant nursery whenever possible. "I usually get crafty with what is readily available, whether it be seasonal fruits or flowers from my backyard."
