WHAT APPEALED TO YOU ABOUT YOUR HOME?
Blaize and I moved to Sydney from Newcastle at the end of 2019. We were renting in Newtown and Petersham and wanted to buy in a similar area.
We found a newly completed development in Erskineville that had a couple of apartments left and this was the last one we saw. It overlooks a neighbouring building's rooftop garden, which was a major selling point, and it's very private and quiet. The large windows and open layout also appealed to us.
HOW HAVE YOU UPDATED IT?
The apartment had really nice finishes, but since it was small and our first apartment, we wanted to have fun with it and add colour everywhere. We added blush sheer curtains and repainted throughout: Dulux Bryophyte (a sage green) in the living area and Dulux Victoriana (a blush) in the bedroom. We chose green for the living, dining and kitchen areas to reflect the rooftop garden across the way, and it complements the light timber floors. To break things up, we added sheer blush curtains along with neutral tones in the furnishings and rug.
