FOUR NIGHTS UPON A HÄSTENS
Elle Decor India
|February - March 2025
From Stockholm to Köping, I uncovered the craftsmanship and science behind the world's most indulgent rest by virtue of Hästens
It’s not love that makes the world go around. Is it money? No. Is it power? Not really. The correct answer is sleep. And nothing fuels it better than a Hästens mattress. For over 170 years, the Swedish brand has been perfecting the art (and craft) of rest. Four nights of varying exhaustion were spent on a Hästens mattress at the Stallmästaregården Hotel in Stockholm, Sweden — a pitstop before our visit to Hästens’ headquarters in Köping. What would we do on the ‘rest’ days of my itinerary? I had no idea.
But those questions, like a good night’s slumber, would soon be laid to rest. My first night came after two flights and a 3,868 mile journey from Mumbai to Stockholm. Upon checking in, I was told I’d be sleeping on a Hästens and that they wanted feedback. No grand promises, just a request for my opinion. Slipping into the sheets, I felt a balance of softness and support. My limbs and bones dissolved like cotton candy.
