OLDHAM were denied a morale-boosting win on Tyneside as Gateshead twice came from behind, the Heed's second equaliser three minutes from the end of normal time.

The Tynesiders were unfortunate to trail to Brennan Dickenson's goal at half-time but fortunate not to have conceded more than one goal after the break.

Jordan Hunter's leveller was soon followed by Liam Hogan restoring the Latics' lead, only for Stephen Wearne to snatch a point for Gateshead late on.

Under-pressure Oldham boss David Unsworth was frustrated not to record a second win of a disappointing campaign so far.

"That just epitomises the last six games really," said Unsworth. "We had great chances opportunities and no excuses, and  we should be winning this game."

The Heed patient were in their build up early on but when Ed Francis whipped a diagonal long into the path of Wearne the wide man was in on the left. The low cross evaded top Marcus scorer Dinanga and the Latics survived.
