As the deadline approaches, more universities are coming forward to apply for the prestigious Centre of Excellence (CoE) status which offers greater autonomy in admissions and fee decisions compared to non-CoEs in the state. Sources indicate that an additional 10 universities have entered the competition in addition to the current seven, taking the total number of bids to 17.
