The Khyati Hospital deaths case has taken a new turn with revelations of a massive fraud involving the fabrication of PMJAY and Ayushman Bharat cards. An employee, Mehul Patel, who managed the PMJAY desk at the hospital, manipulated technical loopholes in the government portal to alter source codes and fraudulently register patients under various government medical schemes. He then issued the cards for a fee.
