Carsley will do England job his way as he returns to coaching kids after successful first auditions

- John Cross

FEET ON THE GROUND, EYES ON THE PRIZE

LEE CARSLEY will go from coaching millionaire superstars to teaching academy kids this week.

England's interim head coach says he has no intention of giving up his "other" job, working with 16 to 21-year-olds at the Strachan Football Foundation academy, which he does every Friday at Warwick University.

The programme was founded by former Manchester United and Scotland hero Gordon Strachan to bring together education and football for aspiring students.

It is a clear sign that Carsley is determined to keep his feet on the ground - and he even intends to try out on the kids some coaching ideas he has used in England sessions.

It will be quite an eye-opener for the youngsters to train under the England head coach.

But it is another sign that Carsley wants to do the job his way, and without the bells and whistles that often come with it. He said: "I've got ideas from here that I want to try with them [the youngsters] leading up to the next game.
