A UNITED Nations chief allowed into Gaza described "absolute carnage" at an overwhelmed hospital as Israeli air strikes pounded the enclave.
Shocked Gemma Connell saw many untreated casualties with "extremely severe wounds" stuck in a queue for surgery.
She called the Al-Aqsa Hospital in the central city of Deir al-Balah "absolutely overloaded".
"I saw people hit in the strike on Sunday," she said, referring to a reported attack on the Al-Maghazi refugee camp.
Ms Connell said thousands of people, displaced many times already, are on the run again with no guarantee of a safe destination.
