Darcey helps mum combát Derek grief

KATE Garraway's daughter Darcey has helped her take the first steps out of the grief that has trapped her since Derek Draper's death.

The 56-year-old presenter's pal Ben Shephard told how her life was in limbo after her husband passed away last week from the effects of Long Covid.

Speaking on Good Morning Britain, he said Kate, 56, Darcey, 17, and son Billy, 14, are "hunkering down" to get through the agony, along with her parents, Gordon and Marilyn.

He added: "She said she's sort of in a strange bubble of her own numbness of grief.
