ANOTHER Champions League howler by goalkeeper Ederson plunged Pep Guardiola deeper into hell.
Just two weeks after the Brazilian international paid the price for the late collapse against Feyenoord that opened up the prospect of the pretournament favourites having to navigate a play-off for a place in the last 16, he blundered again after Guardiola recalled him to the starting line-up.
Ederson's nervy night saw him allow a 53rd-minute header by former Arsenal target Dusan Vlahovic to bounce off his chest and drop over the goalline as the Premier League champions were condemned to their seventh defeat in 10 games.
Former Leeds flop Weston McKennie then came off the bench to seal City's fate with a thumping volley.
Keeper Ederson was given the nod after being replaced by Stefan Ortega for three games but he now faces another spell on the bench.
It was another chastening night for the four-in-a-row Premier League champions.
