Lion cubs rescued from Ukraine back with mum

THE lions sleep tonight... after being reunited with their traumatised mum following their rescue from war-torn Ukraine.

Eighteen-month-old cubs Emi, Santa and Teddi were moved from a private zoo in Donetsk to Poznan Zoo in Poland.

There, they had to be separated after stressed Aysa hit out at one of her offspring in their cramped pen.

They could hear the four-year-old lioness roar but not see her.

After nine months, they were moved to Yorkshire Wildlife Park, near Doncaster, South Yorks, on March 21 and have now finally had an emotional reunion.

Keeper Colin Northcott said: "When I went in the first morning to see them, all four of them were in the same bed, under one of the platforms.
