A SCHOOLGIRL will be home for Christmas after spending nearly eight months in hospital following emergency brain surgery.
Ava Steel, 10, suffered a severe sinus infection that spread to her brain in May. The youngster was forced to undergo surgery after a blood clot was later discovered.
At first mum Suzanne noticed Ava was unusually tired and the next day she woke up with a severely swollen red eye and a drooping face.
