CAMMY DEVLIN reckons Lawrence Shankland will hit the goal trail soon - but insists it's time his team-mates step up and help smooth the path.
The Hearts skipper registered another blank in Sunday's 1-0 defeat to Rangers, leaving him on just one goal from 18 appearances this season.
It's a remarkable drop in return for the 29-year-old who was voted Scotland's Player of the Year in May after netting 32 times for the Tynecastle side.
But Devlin is adamant the frontman was "outstanding" at Ibrox and that his link-up play too often goes unnoticed.
Shankland laid a gilt-edged chance on a plate for Kenneth Vargas early in the second half, only for the Costa Rican to smack a post.
For the second game in succession, boss Neil Critchley was left ruing missed chances after Thursday's 2-0 Euro defeat to Bundesliga side Heidenheim.
And midfielder Devlin insists it's on everyone to start chipping in as secondbottom Hearts look to climb the table after a horrendous start.
