TELLY legend Su Pollard has hit out at the BBC for making its comedy shows political.

The Hi-de-Hi! star, who played chalet maid Peggy, wants the Beeb to broadcast more sitcoms aimed at a family audience.

And with the nation going through tough times, she thinks it’s more important than ever that TV makes us giggle together.

Su said: “I would love to see the BBC do old-style comedy again.
