Ex-DU prof tied up by robbers at his house

At least four unidentified men barged into the house of a 75-year-old retired Delhi University teacher in Ashok Vihar in northwest Delhi on Monday morning and held him, his wife, their domestic help hostage before ransacking the house and decamping with cash and jewellery worth around ₹25 lakh, police said.

The assailants, who had arrived in an auto-rickshaw, also stole a Hyundai i10 car parked outside the house, senior officers said, adding that the car was later found abandoned at Wazirpur JJ Colony.
