MANCHESTER United continue to be linked with players as the transfer window starts to gain momentum and Erik ten Hag looks to strengthen his squad ahead of the new season.
Centre-back is an area where United continue to look ahead of the departure of Raphael Varane.
One of the names to be linked with a move to United is Bayern Munich defender Matthijs de Ligt.
The Athletic now report that United are 'seriously considering' making a move for the centre-back.
The Netherlands international is currently on international duty at Euro 2024, but has been an unused substitute for all three group games so far. He will hope to get some game time when the Netherlands take on Romania in the last 16.
United are said not to have started any negotiations with Bayern over a potential move, but De Ligt has emerged as a concrete target. He has previously worked with Ten Hag during the duo's time at Ajax.
