A MAN accused of murdering his girlfriend claims he realised how much she meant to him after another woman he was sleeping with revealed she was pregnant.
At Liverpool Crown Court, Mr Mannion portrayed a relationship with frequent conflict – admitting slapping Elinor and sending her a WhatsApp message saying ‘please die’ – but insisted she ‘gave as good as she got’.
He told the court he had known Elinor for around four years and they became good friends, but their relationship changed around Christmas 2021 after sleeping together.
