Power drill-attack mum yelled 'I'm gonna kill you'

A MUM thrust a drill into her disabled neighbour’s head while screaming: ‘I’m gonna kill you’ in a horrifying attack

Jade Kent, 31, barged into the woman’s home before pinning her to her seat using her foot and shoving the Black and Decker drill against her skull.

After turning the power tool on, the woman squirmed down into her seat to get away but was caught in the neck.

Mother-of-one Kent, from Gorton, was originally charged with attempted murder, but later pleaded guilty to an alternative offence of section 18 wounding with intent and aggravated burglary.

She was jailed for five years and four months at Manchester Crown Court.

Prosecutor Geoff Whelan said that at around 7am on May 29 last year, the woman, who is registered disabled and uses a mobility scooter, was woken up to the sounds of screaming outside her house. He said Kent was known to be responsible for anti-social behaviour in the street.
