Tips for young investors

Growing up, money was never a topic of discussion at the dinner table. In hindsight, this lack of financial education impacted me well into adulthood.

From the age of 16, I worked as a waitress, earning my own income throughout university. But I had no concept of saving or the importance of financial discipline.

Now, having gained a deeper understanding of personal finance and investments, here are the lessons I wish I had known sooner:

Start early

The earlier you begin investing, the more time your money has to grow thanks to the power of compound interest, often described as the "eighth wonder of the world".

Even small contributions in your early 20s can result in significant growth by the time you reach retirement. The key is consistency and starting as soon as you can.

Make regular contributions
