Indian artillery shells find way into Ukraine

MEA has debunked the report, even though at a July meeting between Indian foreign minister and his Russian counterpart, the latter had taken up the matter of Indian munitions being used by Ukrainians and complained that some were made by state-owned Indian companies
-
Artillery shells sold by Indian arms makers have been diverted by European customers to Ukraine and New Delhi has not intervened to stop the trade despite protests from Moscow. A Reuters news agency report has cited customs data to show that the transfer of munitions has gone on for more than a year.
Moscow has brought it up with New Delhi on more than two occasions, including during a July meeting between Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and Dr S Jaishankar.
The Russian minister had then complained that the transferred munitions were made by state-owned Indian companies, according to an official privy to the meeting. However, the official did not share Jaishankar's response. The Ministry of External Affairs however dismissed the report as "inaccurate and mischievous".
