Insurance firm had no interaction with complainant about policies, confirming AEBC's role

The Central Mumbai District's Consumer Dispute Redressal Commission has found American Express Banking Corporation (AEBC) guilty of deficient services and unfair trade practices and ruled in favour of a complainant who was issued two insurance policies without his consent. The commission has directed the bank to pay Rs1 lakh in compensation for mental agony and Rs10,000 litigation costs.
