A TORPOINT man who noticed his energy levels were dropping as he neared his 70th year has had a new lease of life with the help of a personal trainer – and is urging others to do the same.
Bryan Waters can now deadlift 115kg – more than 18 stone – and has run the London Marathon, despite being aged 78.
Although he was already reasonably physically active and watched what he ate, due to the fact that he has coeliac disease, Bryan said he noticed a drop in his energy levels and range of movement too.
But he refused to take it as a mere sign of old age, and instead signed up for personal training sessions with Sam Quinn at the Nuffield Health Fitness and Wellbeing Centre in Derriford.
