PLYMOUTH'S Connor Adaway recorded a notable road win in the south of France last weekend to get his title ambitions back on track.
Adaway was given a unanimous points decision over hometown boy Joe Callea in a top-of-the-bill clash in Le Cannet, just outside Nice.
The younger brother of veteran Chris Adaway, Connor has dropped down to super bantamweight after his defeat to Lewis Frimpong in the Southern Area featherweight clash last spring.
Having returned with a convincing win over Luke Fash 6 They w sceptical going... But there and last month, Adaway has followed it the way L up with a win over buzz eight rounds at the Gymnase Principiano.
Despite being in the away corner, Adaway won six rounds on two of the judges' scorecards - and all eight on the third.
His opponent went into the contest with a healthy record of 10 wins from his 12 fights, including four stoppages, but could not live with the Plymothian despite being ranked significantly higher.
Adaway told Herald Sport: "It was a risk going over there, but I was very confident. I had a look at the guy, and his record, and who he'd beaten and who he's lost to, and I really wanted to take it.
