Edwards & Cooper master the conditions to remain unbeaten

THERE was a top of the table clash in Men’s B of the RBC Brewin Dolphin MLTC Winter League that was played in between the rain and winds of Storm Darragh.

Lewis Edwards and Richard Cooper played Dominic Sivewright and Alexander Stephenson and with both pairs going into the match unbeaten in the league so far, it was always going to be a hard contest. It was Lewis and Richard who dealt with the blustery conditions best and prevailed 6-3, 6-1, 6-1.

Richard Cooper played with sub Nathan Wildgoose to overcome the resilient St Mellion pairing of Roger Wratten and Roy Barraclough. Nathan, being slightly younger than Roger and Roy, was able to run quickly round the court and helped him and Richard to a 6-0, 6-3, 6-2 win.

Miki Booth and Kevin Wilkins obviously enjoyed playing Alex Stephenson and Dom Sivewright as they played for the second time in just as many weeks.

The first set saw both pairings having to quickly adjust their shots due to the rather strong wind. However Alex and Dom came out firing on all cylinders and continued their unbeaten streak by winning 6-1, 6-5, 6-2.
