Family's Fundraising drive for Rachael

HOPE TO GET LIFE-CHANGING THERAPY FOR BRAIN TUMOUR

A HUGE fundraising drive has been launched by a Plymouth family in a bid to fund life-changing treatment for a woman diagnosed with a rare brain tumour. Johnny and Jade Allen hope to raise £63,000 towards proton beam therapy for Jade's sister Rachael Carrotte.

Rachael's tumour is located in a part of her brain surrounded by nerves that control vital functions such as eye movements and vision and encasing a crucial blood vessel, the internal carotid artery. The family are concerned that conventional treatments offered through the NHS, though available, carry significant risks including the potential for memory loss and loss of sight.
