Fawn A down Octagon despite Bassett's efforts

MIKE Bassett fired sixteen three figure scores but still found himself on the wrong end of a 7-4 defeat as Fawn A were downed by Octagon in the Steve Chapman 501 League.

Bassett was one of two players to hit a maximum in the match as Dave Pethick fired the victors only three treble effort.

Bassett paired with Mark Sargeant to put together a 601 leg in 21 darts in the doubles, a leg that was put to bed with a 106 checkout by the latter.

Alfie Ford may have ended on the wrong side of a narrow 3-2 defeat to Bassett, but he still had time to bag himself a 16 dart leg in the tie.

Dan Brazier lit up Cherry Tree's 6-5 win over Victory Hammers that came down to the deciding last possible leg of the match won by Brazier to give his team the spoils.

Brazier's ton tally was accented by a 112 checkout whilst the only noteworthy contribution by the defeated Honicknowle side came from a 17 dart leg in Ryan Harris' 3-0 triumph.

John Mann fired fifteen tons in the Fawn B's 8-3 win over Bar Mez, including one of the seven maximums thrown by the two players.

Three maximums where ploughed home by Jaden Whitting on his way to fourteen ton plusses whilst there was three 180 hitters amongst the visitors from Cornwall.

Rodmell also added a 120 checkout that was best of the match, bettering Fred Goldsmith's 105 three dart combination outshot.

Mann's (31.98) 3-0 triumph was by some distance the best average in the match as the Cornwall marksman put together legs in 18, 17 and 12 darts.

Whitting's five leg win was sealed with a crucial 14 darter whilst teammate Goldsmith added legs in 18 and 16 in a 3-0 success of his own.
