SIMON Washington once again put his name into the headlines with a majestic individual performance for Fawn B in an 11-0 Steve Chapman 501 League success over The Exchange.
Washington (28.36) threw legs that tumbled in 16 and 18 darts in his epic 3-0 success and also added 11 three-figure visits overall across the contest. Washington's ton tally was topped up to that mark by one of the three 180s plundered in the match, with the others coming from the same man.
Sean Taylor was the recipient of two '180' calls after throwing, and he added a 101 checkout as well as a leg in 17 darts to his night's work. The other shining light of the victors was Fred Goldsmith, who top scored with a 13-ton haul and checked the best leg of 501 with a 15-darter.
Mark Hatherley ran up a ton total which topped out at 15 three-figure scores but still found himself on the wrong end of a 7-4 loss as Indian were downed by Cherry Tree A. Hatherley's best achievement of that mammoth total was a 102 checkout that came in a 3-1 win, which also saw a leg ended in just 15 darts.
The only noteworthy contribution from the successful home side was a Luke Beard 18-dart leg, which proved crucial in dispatching his opponent 3-2.The derby match between Victory A and the Victory Hammers, that ended 8-3 to the former, was dominated by the scoring prowess of Scott Lawrey who hit 14 tons. Lawrey's performance was backed up by team-mate Quinton Taylor who added eleven three figure visits to the board whilst the 180s in the game were shared.
Paul Goundry and Wayne Davis achieved that particular feat whilst there was two notable moments at the business end of legs. Lawrey added an 18-darter in his 3-1 triumph, which sat nicely alongside a 100 out-shot by stablemate Darren Collis that was the best of all 34 checkouts across the fixture.
