AT THE end of a week which saw Steven Schumacher's highly-successful two-year tenure at Plymouth Argyle come to an end with his appointment by Stoke City the 39-year-old has sent his thanks to the Green Army, as well as the players and all the staff at the Championship club for a memorable time at Home Park.
The 39-year-old Liverpudlian accepts it was a bad time to leave Home Park, but felt the opportunity to move to Stoke was too good to turn down, despite saying Plymouth was the perfect place for him earlier this month when he was linked with the Sunderland job.
"I honestly did feel as though I was in a brilliant place,” Schumacher said in an exclusive interview with Herald
Sport. "I have loved every minute of it there, as a coach and as a manager, and I have explained all my reasons for that before. It gives you an opportunity to learn, gave me an = opportunity to make mistakes, and gave me an opportunity to - develop as well into a coach and into a person that I want et36 to be as a leader, and I was in no rush to up and leave.
