A child of the wild The artist takes inspiration from her childhood spent in the lap of nature in the forested small town of Gomia in Jharkhand. Gomia is surrounded by the deciduous forest of the Chota Nagpur Plateau with the Damodar River cutting through the valley, adding to its beauty. Remembering her growing up years in nature, Dikshit says, "I grew up in Gomia surrounded by forests, streams, hills and a river flowing close to our house. I spent many afternoons climbing a tree or trying to catch dragonflies and butterflies. My childhood was a magical time of fearless exploration and bonding with nature. The forests came almost up to our homes, and it was quite usual for us to go for a hike up the hill, in the afternoon.
