On Friday, a federal court in Texas issued a decision about the abortion drug mifepristone, declaring that he would suspend the FDA's two-decade-old approval, according to CNN.

TEXAS JUDGE ISSUES RULING, HALTS APPROVAL OF MEDICATION ABORTION PILL

To give the federal government time to appeal, the judge delayed making his verdict by seven days. Less than two hours later, a federal court in Washington state made its decision, stating that the FDA must retain access to abortion drugs in more than a dozen states with Democratic governors. The two decisions represent the most significant precedents pertaining to abortion since the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade last year, according to CNN.

The Roe v. Wade decision being overturned is evidence of the real effects it has on patients trying to receive medical care. On 24 June, 2022, the US Supreme Court terminated abortion rights, nullifying the constitutional protection given to women in the illustrious Roe v. Wade decision of 1973.
