If at first you don't succeed...

Tom travels to the other side of the world to have another go at shooting an elusive image and displays the power of his perseverance

You know the saying: 'If at first you don't succeed, try, try again. It definitely rings true in landscape photography. There have been countless times when I've had to revisit a location repeatedly to capture the image I envisioned, especially when the weather wasn't on my side. This was particularly evident during a recent workshop, although travelling to the other side of the world was, perhaps, a bit extreme! I've been to the South Island of New Zealand several times in different seasons and there are a couple of my favourite coastal locations where I have taken images that I'm happy with, but not the images that I had in mind.
