The British dame is thrilled to be back in the arms of her action hero

Helen's Hollywood crush 'I'M HOOKED ON HARRISON!'

When a little-known actress called Helen Mirren signed up to star in a movie opposite Harrison Ford in 1986, she tried not to let on she was quaking in her shoes.

“He was an enormous movie star,” recalls Dame Helen, 77. “He’d already done Star Wars and the first two Indiana Jones movies. I was a theatre actress out of London and nobody had heard of me. I was intimidated. Very, very intimidated…”

The movie the pair appeared in all those decades ago was The Mosquito Coast, about a couple – played by Harrison and Helen – who leave the US with their children for a simpler life in the jungles of Central America, only to find their lives spiralling out of control.

Thirty-seven years later, Helen and Harrison, 80, have teamed up again, this time for Amazon Prime Video’s Yellowstone prequel 1923.

“Now, our relationship is very different because I’ve sort of caught up with him,” shares Helen, who in 2007 won an Oscar for her performance in The Queen.

“Well, I’ll never catch up with him completely, but I’m a little bit closer than I was.

“I’m still slightly intimidated by Harrison,” she laughs. “He’d be mortified to hear me say this because he’s such an unintimidating person. He is the kindest, most generous, warmest person to be around. But still, my fan girl thing, I can’t quite get over. You know… ‘Oh, my God. It’s Harrison Ford!’”
