One thought got me through the exhaustion of early motherhood – never having to go through this again. An only child, I didn’t grow up around young children, and by my teenage years, the only thing I saw in my future was adventure. At 16, I was studying childcare at college and working as a childminder, which I loved, but it only made me more sure a child of my own wasn’t for me.

In January 2013, aged 20, I was on a night out with friends when I bumped into Josh. We’d met at college two years before and started chatting. I was clear with Josh that I didn’t want children, and it didn’t bother him. He proposed in Paris in February 2016 and we married in July 2017.
