Having been a GP for over a decade, I’m no stranger to the effect that financial difficulties, poor-quality housing and social situations can have on a patient’s health, but the cost-of-living crisis feels different to everything I’ve witnessed before. This is no longer damaging the health and wellbeing of some – it’s affecting the masses, and it’s terrifying.
