Princess Mary put on a brave and dignified face as she stepped out last week in Copenhagen, just hours after Madrid-based socialite Genoveva Casanova issued a swift denial of media reports that she was romantically linked to her husband Prince Frederik.
Ironically hosting Spain's King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia, who were in Denmark on an official visit, Mary, 51, sent a clear message of support to her husband of nearly two decades by wearing a petite 18-carat gold necklace with the initial "F".
But behind the scenes, Woman's Day has learned the Danish royal feels she "deserves much better" than being the subject of unrelenting speculation and rumours.
