In this issue:
Bali, and for that matter the whole of Indonesia, is perhaps the very heart of creative tropical living design. The mere mention of ‘Bali’ evokes thoughts of paradise, it’s more than a place it’s a mood, an aspiration, a tropical state of mind eloquently reflected in its architecture. 
Today, the contemporary Balinese style is known as one of the most recognised approaches to tropical architecture, much owed to the growth of the tourism industry that has created a demand for Balinese-style houses, villas and hotels.
Contemporary Balinese architecture combines traditional aesthetic principles, the island’s abundance of natural materials, famous artistry and craftsmanship of its people, all of which makes Bali the ideal place to see just what is possible.

• The visually arresting Paraty House designed by Marcio Kogan and his team at Studio MK27. A private beach home floating out of the tropical mountain-side like two drawers in a dresser, wrapped in a contemporary style of concrete, wood and glass.
• No Brazilians design feature without a look at the country's world renowned architect Oscar Niemeyer, the father of contemporary architecture.
• We get laid back and sandy with UXUA, a one of a kind eco-inspired hotel on the Bahian coastal village of Trancoso.
• Then we veer off to Mexico and discover one of Mexico’s best kept secrets until now, Hotel Be Tulum.
