In this issue
With the Lunar New Year celebrations stretching for 15 days all the way into the month of February, Augustman Malaysia dedicates this issue to the Spring Festival and Chinese culture. Headlining February’s features is a special photo editorial that gives us a glimpse of the history of the Chinese diaspora in the UK and how the modern generation celebrates Chinese New Year in the capital city of London, through the lens of UK-based photographer Aisha Nazar. We follow this up with a visual piece by Annice Lyn capturing the perseverance of the lion dance industry in Malaysia. In keeping with the theme, Daniel Goh took it upon themselves to rediscover traditional Chinese New Year staples and family businesses that have stood the test of time and have been reinvigorated by their descendants for the generations to come.
In anticipation of the upcoming theatrical release of the supernatural horror film Pulau, Augustman presents the film’s executive producer and F&B entrepreneur Michael Helfman of Mickey’s Original New York Pizza fame, who shares about his sophomore feature film and his return to filmmaking after 10 years, in this February’s exclusive cover story.
