This month, we celebrate our mothers, our crushes, our wives, it is these women who push us to want to be the best men we could be. It is this quest that, since time immemorial, has drawn us to beautiful garments and flashy baubles, like peacocks astride a sociocultural stage. This spring/summer sees a literal smorgasbord of masculine sophistication from Dior (p. 20), Loro Piana (p. 22), Gucci (p. 24) and the return of Shanghai Tang (p. 30); Tiffany & Co. has also unexpectedly taken a walk along the street(wear) side with a Nike collaboration (p. 34).
We have baubles aplenty also as we discover by way of Cartier, men love diamonds too (p. 40) – or do we love them because women are drawn to them?
Women do love a rebel and in Hublot, the watchmaking pioneer which mainstreamed rubber, we find a paragon in the Classic Fusion Original (p. 44)
and of course, what better emblem that we would die for them – aside from Bryan Adams’ (Everything I Do) I Do It For You – than the new Bell & Ross BR 01 Cyber Skull Bronze (p. 46)?
Headlining August Woman of the Month, Tan Kheng Hua loves hardworking, responsible men.
