E.A.G.L.E.S. soar into the Super Bowl with 55-23 win over Washington

In times like these, Volunteering is Everything

Less than seven days into the new administration in our nation's capitol, a second Donald Trump era, I am reminded that, in reality, all we've really got to depend on is each other, at least for the next four years. We have to pull our own selves up by the bootstraps so-to-speak. What with the dismantling of so many programs that have existed for years in America, under Donald Trump, those programs will exist no more. Rather than dig our heads in the sand, bemoan our current fate, or quake in our shoes, we have to remain strong and steadfast and we have to be smart about it. One of the things we have to do more of is to help each other. We also have to volunteer, where needed, in our community.

Sweeping changes in America

Oh, what a difference a day makes. Since January 20, 2025, came along and Donald Trump was re-sworn in as President of the United States, he has been making a lot of sweeping changes. As President, he carries a lot of power, and he's using it. We can only imagine that over the next 4 years, President Trump is going to give us plenty to report on in this Civics column and in our main column for the SCOOP.

Trump pardons must not lead to the unpardonable

Hindsight, as the old saying goes, is always 20/20. That thought came to mind after a couple of the roughly 1,500 January 6 offenders given pardons by President Trump said they didn't want it.
