With many people choosing to live in security complexes these days, the choice to keep your cat indoors has become a popular one. But as we know that cats enjoy roaming, is this a cruel practice and how can you still offer your cat optimal quality of life?

7 benefits of living indoors

1. RELATIVE SAFETY FROM DISEASE A cat who is allowed to do her own thing in the outside world will inevitably come into contact with other cats who are allowed the same. And while your cat’s vaccinations might be up to date, this is not the case for everyone. Therefore an outdoor cat will be more exposed to contagious diseases that other cats might carry.

2. SAFETY FROM MALICIOUS NEIGHBOURS Let’s face it, there are many people out there who just do not like cats. And even some of those who do might not appreciate a strange cat using their garden as a toilet or invading their home, possibly even spraying there. It does sometimes happen that people resort to extreme measures to ‘get rid of’ an unwelcome cat.
