Rolls-Royce Motorcars offers unimaginable levels of bespoke services. Deepali Nandwani experiences the brand’s custom-fit cars at its exclusive experiential centre in Dubai
At $13 million, Rolls-Royce Sweptail is perhaps the world’s most expensive car. But if you were to take your focus off the price tag, you will realise that there is more to the car than just the money. Rolls-Royce Motorcars presented this sleek beauty at the Concorso d’Eleganza at Villa d’Este in May this year. Built and designed for a mysterious multimillionaire, said to be a collector of everything distinctive and unique, the Sweptail is as bespoke as it gets in the world of luxury motorcars. The idea for the dream machine came from the said gentleman: a two-seat RollsRoyce that would be a nod to the swept-tail feature of the Rolls-Royce cars from the 1920s.
The Sweptail is indicative of the highly individualistic bespoke services that Rolls-Royce Motorcars provides its customers. We aren’t just talking about a little tweaking. If you have an idea, Rolls-Royce will go to any goddamn extent to build you that smooth dream machine.
A while ago, Rolls-Royce invoked its coach building heritage to unveil the 103EX Vision Vehicle to the world, which envisaged personal luxury cars, designed using new technologies. As Torsten Müller-Ötvös, Chief Executive Officer, Rolls-Royce Motor Cars said, while launching Sweptail, “The arrival of 103EX shone a light on the future of Rolls-Royce and ‘Sweptail’ is proof that Rolls-Royce is at the pinnacle of coachbuilding. We are listening carefully to our most special customers and assessing their interest in investing in similar, completely exclusive coach built masterpieces.”
