The first edition of General Manager and Leadership Roundtable, an Hotelier India initiative, at Gurugram
Gurmeet Sachdev, Director - Hotelier India, opened the event by thanking the participants for their presence. The objective of such initatitives, she said, is not only to have open dialogues with industry patrons but to take these discussions to the next level and bring the required change in the industry. Next, Rahul Puri, GM - Westin Gurugram, was invited for a warm welcome address. Hoping to witness an interactive and knowledge-building session, Puri passed the spotlight to Mukund Vasudevan, Managing Director, India - ECOLAB. Vasudevan highlighted the gist of the evening, “With the growth of travel and tourism in the country, macro-trends and new competitors are emerging every day. Also, pricing instability, staff turnover, operational mishaps, etc. all affect the bigger picture. I believe sharing experiences and ideas will add value and help in the growth of the overall industry. I am expecting you to have a great time and a robust discussion today.”
Sachdev took over to introduce Dilip Puri, Founder & CEO - Indian School of Hospitality, a special guest and moderator of the roundtable discussion. Dilip Puri kick-started the roundtable session by asking the speakers to introduce themselves. Following the introductions, the speakers were requested to share how they were keeping pace with ever-evolving technology in the hospitality business.
