The best of hotels believe that the moment guests slip between the crisp white sheets of a perfectly made bed, they should be able to experience and feel the opulence, comfort and the luxury of a great bedding and fall blissfully into a deep sleep. To ensure that their guests experience the most restful of nights, hotels invest quite a packet on creating divine bed settings.
The quality of sleep is one of the most basic of luxuries a hotel can offer and it plays a crucial role in tying together a guest’s complete stay experience. Neeraj Lumb, Director of Rooms, Sheraton Grand Bengaluru Whitefield Hotel & Convention Center says, “Keeping in mind the busy travel and work schedules, particularly of business travellers, hoteliers need to offer their guests a good night’s rest.” So, most hotels take into their considered view different elements such as the bed itself, besides mattresses, pillows lighting and linen, while choosing their bed and bedding.
Customised beddings
A hotel could tick all the luxury experiences and design boxes, but if the bed and bedding facilities are poor, it is likely to lose a lot of goodwill. While the most comfortable space to get uninterrupted and sound sleep is your own home, Umamahesh Rao, Director of Housekeeping, The Westin Mumbai Garden City says, “We try our best to provide a ‘home away from home’ experience.”
The wellness factor
Apart from the obvious demand for plush bedding, hoteliers should keep in mind factors such as the right support for the back, pressure relief and comfort. Good sleep is deeply connected with the feeling of wellness.
