Taapsee Pannu offers up some straight drives to Raghuvendra Singh’s yorkers
Raghuvendra Singh
Queen's gambit

Taapsee Pannu is so down-to-earth, so real that you have to pinch yourself into believing you’re talking to a film star. You feel you’re conversing with a college friend. You can ask her anything under the sun and be assured of an honest answer. There’s no off-the-record conversations with her as she doesn’t like to gossip. She’d rather talk about the art of cinema or the craft of acting than give pointers towards who’s in whose bed currently. She doesn’t talk about her own love life either, arguing that it has nothing to do with what she does as an actor. She’s not known to mince words on the social media. Her forthright views are a refreshing change from the doublespeak that most actors practice. She promised us an interview after winning the Best Actor In A Leading Role trophy at the recently concluded Vimal Elaichi Filmfare Awards 2021. Excerpts from a free-flowing tete-a-tete...

WHEN YOU ACCEPTED THE FILMFARE AWARD FOR BEST ACTRESS THIS YEAR, YOU THANKED ALL YOUR FELLOW NOMINEES. WHAT PROMPTED YOU TO DO THAT?
