HISTORY HAUNTS HARRY & MEGHAN

RENEGADE royals Prince Harry and Meghan are being described as the reincarnation of England’s “traitor King” Edward VIII and his gold-digging American wife, Wallis Simpson.

The similarities between the rogue couples are so great, many palace insiders say they seem like mirror images nearly 100 years apart!

At 9:30 p.m. on Dec. 11, 1936, Edward gave a radio broadcast from Windsor Castle that rocked Britain — and shocked the world — declaring he was giving up the throne to marry Wallis, who as a divorcée was officially off-limits, according to royal rules.

“I have found it impossible to carry the heavy burden of responsibility and to discharge my duties as king as I would wish to do without the help and support of the woman I love,” Edward declared.

“I now quit altogether public affairs, and I lay down my burden.”

Nearly 85 years later, Harry, 37, was stripped of his royal duties and snuck off to California with his American divorcée, Meghan.
